“A Night in Bethlehem”
returns to Westminster United Methodist Church, Friday December 6th and Saturday December 7th. Our interactive, guided walking tours of Bethlehem on the night of Jesus’ birth begin at 5:30 and conclude at 8 PM. Some 70+ costumed characters provide a unique opportunity to experience the wonder of Jesus’ birth. |
A knowledgeable guide will walk you through the outdoor presentation. First you will meet Isaiah the Prophet, then shepherds, travelers, King Herod, and the Angel with Mary. You’ll catch a glimpse of how the Magi (Wiseman) charted their course. You’ll meet fellow pilgrims and pass through the guarded city gates where it’s time to pay your taxes. Next, you will hear the Angel’s announcement to the Shepherds and catch up to the Star-Guided-Magi. You’ll pass the city’s well, and arrive at the Inn to see the Manger with Mary, Joseph and Child. Finally, you will deliver the joyful news to Eleazer the Temple Priest that the Messiah has come!
After the outdoor tour, enter the indoor Marketplace. Here you will interact with friendly shopkeepers and participate in fun activities. Bring your children and grandchildren along for crafts, music and cocoa. The festive atmosphere will be enjoyable for all!
